Therapy for Teens
A place where you don’t have to have it all figured out.
Being a teenager can feel like everyone has an opinion about who you are, what you should be doing, and who you’re supposed to become. You might be dealing with anxiety, friendships, school pressure, family conflict, identity, relationships, ADHD or autism, feeling different, or emotions that are hard to even put into words.
Therapy with me isn’t another place where an adult tells you what to do.
You don’t have to show up with something prepared to talk about. We can talk, laugh, create, sit with the uncomfortable stuff, or get curious about the different parts of you. I want therapy to be somewhere you can take off the mask a little, understand yourself better, and figure out what you actually need—not who everyone else thinks you should be.
A PLACE THEY CAN ACTUALLY BE THEMSELVES
Therapy doesn’t have to feel like another place where adults are evaluating you.
I want kids and teens to know that they don’t have to perform, have the “right” answers, or sit perfectly still and talk for an hour. We might talk, draw, create, laugh, use games, notice what’s happening in the body, or explore different parts of themselves. I especially welcome LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent young people who may be looking for a space where they don’t have to explain or hide important parts of who they are.
The goal isn’t to change who they are. It’s to help them understand and trust who they are.
I also recognize that parents and caregivers are an important part of the process. When appropriate, we can work together to better understand what your child may be communicating, identify ways to support them outside of therapy, and strengthen connection at home—while still protecting the therapeutic space your child or teen needs.
